Cataract Surgery
I offer bespoke cataract surgery tailored to the individual and their visual requirements. Unlike standard cataract surgery in which a patient can expect restoration of clear vision with limitations on range of overall focus, for example mainly distance vision with a monofocal lens implant, bespoke surgery offers additional options for those patients wanting the best that cataract lens technology can offer.
Overview
Bespoke surgery requires a thorough ocular examination to ensure that an individual and their eyes are suitable for a premium lens. Imaging and scanning of the eyes is performed to help determine suitability for a premium lens.
Treatment Options
• Correction of astigmatism, with a monofocal lens or combined with other premium lenses
• Distance vision with some expected intermediate sight (enhanced monofocal)
• Extended range of sight (extended depth of focus lens)
• Full range of focus (diffractive implant)
Exclusions & Limitations
Exclusion of problems of the cornea such as keratoconus or retinal disease such as age-related macular degeneration is necessary, as it may not be possible to offer all lens choices.
